Jim volunteered for his first trip to Guatemala after retiring from Doane College where he was a professor of mathematics for 30 years. Experiencing the Guatemalan culture, by meandering the streets of Antigua, walking the paths of Xepatan, and lending support to the masons building houses help to appreciate and understand our own world. Jim has been back ro Xepatan numerous times since that first trip. To see the joy of a family when their home is dedicated is rewarding: Their gratitude and hospitality is very humbling. Jim currently resides in Crete, Nebraska and enjoys time with family, traveling, fishing, golfing, and kite-flying.
